God does not just want us to have life; God wants us to have life abundantly. Abundance or when something is in abundance simply means more than enough, or beyond what is required. Imagine you are asking God for two units and He gives you twenty thousand units. There is only one word for that and it is abundance. Imagine you are trusting God for a promotion at work and He gives you a triple promotion. The only word for that is abundance. However, there are things that put a limitation on us and we are not able to walk in the fullness of the abundance that God has for us.

#1. Positional Limitations. When you are wrongly positioned, you are going to have challenges with abundance. An obvious one from a spiritual standpoint is, if you are not in Christ you are wrongly positioned. Why? When you are in Christ, the Scripture says you are seated in heavenly places, far above principalities and powers together with Christ. In Christ, you are above limits.  When you are not in Christ, you are under the control of the elements. If you are wrongly positioned, I pray that you will reposition in God, in Jesus Name.

#2. Resource Limitations. Sometimes, we allow ourselves to be limited by our resources. And an expression of that is the statement; I do not have enough money. Or I wish I had more of abc….., I would have done that for God. The truth is that your destiny does not depend on your resources. I know this would sound strange to some people but it is the truth. Your destiny does not depend on your resources. You and God know what is in your bank account and it is obvious that He cannot possibly depend on that. God does not depend on our resources to take us where He wants to take us.

You need to take your eyes off your resources. When Jesus was about to feed the five thousand men [not counting women and children], He asked the disciples what do you have? And the disciples came back saying we only have five loaves and two fish; what is this among so many? In other words, this resource is too little to fulfill the objective. And Jesus said, tell them to sit down.

God does not depend on your resources to take you where He wants to take you. Do not let your resources become a limitation! Initially, Gideon had thirty-two thousand men, God reduced them to three hundred men. And with only three hundred men, Gideon took nations and defeated stronger armies. Why? It is because God is not tied to our resources or lack of resources to work out His plan. So do not let resources become a limitation. In God’s Favourite House, we do not determine our projects by our resources. Rather, we focus on what we want to do for God and then we check what we have. And all the time, it is a world apart but God always comes through. Do not be positionally disadvantaged. Do not let your resources cage you.

#3. Historical Limitations. Do not let historical realities limit you. Some of us have allowed historical facts to limit us. This was what your great grandfather experienced, that was what your grandfather experienced, and that is what your father experienced. In fact, you are actually seeing the signs in your life. But the devil is a lair, that barrier is going to be broken with you, in Jesus Name. History can be so strong and you pretty much cannot argue with it because that is how it has been. But the Word of God supersedes your family history. It does. So do not be limited by history.

#4. Visual Limitations. Do not be limited by what you see [your sight]. Many times the reason we are not moving in abundance is that all we see is scarcity. I want you to open your eyes daily to the abundance around you. What we see is so powerful because if you check, God largely does not go beyond how far you see. God brought Abraham out and said to him look to the north, to the south, to the east, and to the west. As far as you can see, I will give you the land. And today we are called the children of Abraham. What does that tell us? Abraham saw you and I that day. He saw Nigeria, he saw Kenya, Togo, Zambia, Zimbabwe. He saw as God wanted him to see. I pray that you will see as God wants you to see.

It is truly amazing that God is able to give you a prophetic Word for your destiny on one hand but on the other hand, ask you what you see. God had told Jeremiah what his destiny would be but God also asked him what he could see. And if you do not see accurately, there is going to be a problem because God largely does not go beyond how far you see. I pray for you again that you will begin to see accurately beginning from today, in Jesus' Name.

#5.  Spoken Limitations. The words people say are another source of limitation. Scripture clearly states that life and death are in the tongue. So what you say has the power to limit you. I have seen people practically bind their hands and legs with what they say and it is so disheartening. You see parents having challenges with a child that is stubborn and they speak limitations into the child’s future. I have heard parents make statements like ‘this child will kill me’. Watch what you say! I have seen couples out of anger call their spouse useless. That is evil. You are binding and limiting yourselves. God wants you to break out of that. But for you to break out, you need to change what you say. In whatever area of your life that you want an abundance of life to flow, you need to change what you speak over it.

The truth is that our God is a God of abundance.  Just look around you and look at the stars, God does things in abundance. In Genesis 1, when He was creating the ocean, God said let the ocean bring forth abundantly and all sorts of creatures appeared. As ‘advanced’ as man and man’s gadgets are, do you know that man has not explored more than five percent of the ocean? Scientists are bewildered at the depth of the ocean. I was reading an article that stated that scientists get to certain depths of the ocean where the darkness becomes too thick to see the creatures around them so they have to turn back. The Bible says there are leviathans in the ocean. Who knows what leviathan is? But it is in the ocean and we know this because God says so. God is a God of abundance and you are His child. It must ache God’s heart to look at us in scarcity because He created us for abundance...

How Did I Get Here From Being A Pro-Nigeria

Happy Independence Nigeria!

I’m struggling to understand how I got here, “I was so passionate about Nigeria and what it has to offer, I believed so much in her that I was ready to engage her and start life with her. Even when she broke my heart I was willing to give her a second chance. She will definitely accept me as long as I keep coming back” - Someone’s analogy and I can relate to it, but our threshold for rubbish is different.

  • Some people give up after they have been beaten once,
  • Some will go back and be beaten a few times before they finally give up
  • Some would not even mind being beaten every day they will still stay in that relationship hoping and believing that one day things will work out in their favour.

If you are the type that stays and hopes for a better future, you usually get rewarded more because you rode through the struggles but this is not me, I am more of the second type of person that, will always give a second chance or even a few more chances before I then withdraw myself and deal at a distance. For the record, I don't give up on relationships (all) even when I have been beaten and not trying to jinx it I hope I would not have to ever do that.

I have had to adopt this analogy because it just explains where I am with ‘Nigeria’. For those who know me, I always encouraged everyone to move to Nigeria - Nigeria is the land of many opportunities, Nigeria is the future.  On this my recent trip I had to ask myself when exactly is the future? will the future ever come in my lifetime? But what I have realised is that I am starting to doubt myself about Nigeria - which is really strange.

The word on everyone’s lips is Emigrate - our best talents are leaving the country, rich business owners are emigrating, businesses are shutting down at the same rate startups are coming up - filter through (1 in 1 out). A lot of my friends that had moved back are all moving back to England now, some are still there but a majority are back in England. People that I know that have amazing jobs/business are leaving the country, there is mass emigration, people are leaving the country in crazy numbers – Canada seems to be the destination for most.

Nigerians are naturally talented people and real hustlers, real hustlers ride the tide no matter how heavy the waves are, we are so flexible that we can adjust to whatever situation we find ourselves but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. I think people (youths) are getting to the point where they will seriously revolt - even though this almost happened a few years ago and the gospel of ‘let peace rain’ was preached and the youths calmed it.

I’m a realistic optimist - I believe in applying wisdom, I am very positive, extremely positive in fact, but I am a realist too and with the things I am seeing and the way things are going will she ever fulfil her great destiny? what do we need to do to save her? does anyone really care anymore?

Kids as young as 5 years old will say things like “Uncle Tobi, this country is finished”. I am usually like don’t say that it is not finished. These days I am actually starting to think maybe it is indeed finished or it is finishing.

I really do not understand how I got here. I am very much open to having discussions with anyone interested in how we can save her from sinking totally!

God bless Nigeria, God Bless Africa, God Bless the World.

#THMNuggets0818 Day 31: Trust God

If this has blessed you in anyway, it is only been God, It might be the last day of the month and of these nugget notes but it is the perfect time to let you know it wasn’t my wisdom or thinking that made this happened, God instructed and gave everything I needed. Whatever it is that you want to do or become make sure God is at the centre of it. Seek first the kingdom of God and everything else will naturally fall into place, it sounds crazy but it is tested and proven in me!

These 31 notes only happened by the direction of God, A lot of it is what I have learnt in the past 2 years. He has a sense of humour just imagine this, I have a book I am currently writing and God said put that on the side write these notes they are more important in this season, people need them, It is also a learning ground for you. Meaning do not get excited now young man, this isn’t just for everyone else because you have learnt these things and understand them now, but it is also for you because you have other things you still need to learn, so it is a training ground for the more complex things that will come, like the book you are writing!

Me saying ‘God said’ also sounds weird and cool at the same time to me but trust me he speaks and we converse a lot, he loves a banter and we do have banter, he is just so dope!!

Anyway before you can trust him, you need to invite him into your life and have a personal relationship with him, if you haven’t got one.

My prayer as this comes to an end is that you find God, form a relationship with him and that you will find that trust in him and his process. When it gets tough and it will, come back to declaring his words over yourself and your situation, even when the trust is fading call out to him he will surely answer - Tried/Tested and Proven!

#THMNuggets0818 Day 30: It Is A Process

Nothing happens overnight, the same way you didn’t get to where you are now overnight. It takes eating junk over months to gain weight and it also takes proper diet and exercise over months to lose it too.

I do not believe in overnight success, I believe people suddenly see it overnight but not that it happened overnight. There is a process to everything.

I found a quote online that said.

“Nothing changes overnight I know becoming everything I want to be will take time and patience”

People see me and say Tobi, you have lost weight - how did you do it. I decided to fix my diet and exercise more, that is it! It didn’t happen overnight.

I really like this quote but I think it is incomplete, I will add “as long as I keep taking steps daily towards the goal/vision

You have to do something, take steps, I have what I call rituals, these are the things I do daily to achieve a long-term goal, I do fall off at times but I understand that it is a process and pick myself back up.

A Chinese proverb says

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now”

A tree doesn’t grow overnight, you have to plant it first and watch it grow, whilst it is growing it will be bitten by the rain, stormy weather, the sun will shine on it - too hot at times but as long as it stands all these difficult seasons and times it will surely become a tree

Are you trying to build confidence?

Are you trying to secure the perfect relationship?

Are you trying to buy a house?

Whatever it is you are trying to do, it is a process and we are quick to knock ourselves when we make mistakes or do not do something right, some go as far as giving up but we really can’t we have to pick ourselves back up and push. I will say this though the process is a lot easier when you know who you are in God.

#THMNuggets0818 Day 29: Be Grateful

My second most import weapon is gratitude! I am always very grateful no matter what the situation is, there is someone out there dying/will kill to be in your current situation or to have the same privileges you are currently enjoying. I have just come back from Nigeria and I visited the slums whilst out there and I realised how lucky a lot of us are, maybe we all need a slum experience to understand how lucky we are .

We go on Instagram see the car or clothes someone is driving/wearing and we become depressed all of a sudden, for some it goes as low as the number of likes on someone’s picture and you are struggling to get 10 likes - be grateful for your 10, someone didn’t get any. Be Grateful, I know it is easier said than done but even in difficult times be Grateful, Thank God for life because you definitely could be dead

I’m grateful to God and to man too, because it is a man God will use to help us get to our next level. For a lot of us to get to our next level all we need to do more of is saying ‘Thank you’ to people but we are too arrogant, too spoilt and feel the sense of entitlement, we believe we deserve certain privileges — and subconsciously we become arrogant about it too.

Saying Thank you is an art, I had to learn it by practicing over and over again, now it is a part of me to always say ‘Thank you’. I used to be so arrogant and so demanding/commanding that I forget to acknowledge people when they get things done for me - sense of entitlement, but these days people are more willing to help out even before I ask them too and you can see it is coming from a genuine place all because I acknowledge them genuinely.
